The World According to Jeff
So, you ask, what have I done for the net lately? Good question.
For a while, I was writing occasional articles for computer industry trade magazines. Mostly Unix-World, and Interact - an HP-3000 specific publication.
I participate a little in some of the internet-
and my own little bits of software...
Vomitran, a Perl version of the
classic FORTRAN source code obfuscator
Recently, I've been playing around with Netscape's DHTML.
There are some pretty cool effects which can be achieved.
My style is a little more subdued than some of the demo
pages I've seen out there. If you are looking for some
more DHTML and Javascript examples,
try some of mine.
Then there is WeBee
Lately I've been playing in the database world.
Now that some of the big boys have released their products for Linux,
I've had an opertunity to play with them.
Of course, I'm playing with Perl.
DBI and DBD are Perl modules which interface with SQL
databases.
Here are some progrms I've written which use DBI and DBD with Sybase:
Sy_load, a table loader;
sy_unload, a table unloader; and
sy_report, a general purpose report writer,
inspired by the Informix Ace report writer.
Then there are my Icecast
experiments with internet radio.
My latest goof is an experiment
with Google Maps.
Even some of my friends have web pages.
If you have a minute or two,
I don't think they'd mind if you were to drop by...
If you find yourself with nothing better to do one weekend, drop by
one of the central east coast hamfests.
Maybe I'll see you there.
If you think of anything that I've missed, drop me a line at

I give all suggestions due consideration.
http-get, a Perl program which
given a URL, fetches the file. Options include being able
to provide (or spoof) HTTP parameters such as HTTP-REFERRER.
There are really too many neat places on the net to list
here.
The Links According to Jeff page
lists a lot of them, and is only one click away.
Of course, if I think of anything new and exciting, I'll be
adding it right here in this empty space.
